Since last month, Mariah Carey and boyfriend, James Packer, have been planning a private trip to the Holy Land. The two finally sat down with Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, for a dinner normally reserved for senior diplomats and world leaders.
Army Radio reported that Carey has “waited many years to come [to the Holy Land] and I am very moved.” She and Packer attended with her twins, Monroe and Moroccan, who Carey had with estranged husband, Nick Cannon in 2010.
She posted photos of her and her kids on her Twitter page.
The couple planned to meet a spiritual leader before getting married. Neither are Jewish but Carey does feel a close connection to the Holy Land.
Packer was reported to have bought a house in Israel where
he dined with Netanyahu several times. “Spending time with Arnon [Milchan] and Prime Minister Netanyahu has been an amazing, eye-opener for me and it reinforced how lucky we all are…” he told
The Daily Telegraph.
