attempted-suicide-bombing
Israel Police reported early Sunday morning of an explosion heard on the main road to Ma'ale Adumim, a few miles east of Jerusalem. Police officers from the Ma'ale Adumim precinct noticed a suspicious vehicle being driven by a female Arab driver and signaled for her to stop the car for an inspection about a half mile ahead of the al-Zaim checkpoint. The driver, a 31-year-old resident of Jaffa, approached the police officers and shouted "Allahu Akbar," seconds before detonating a bomb. Contrary to earlier reports, the Israel Police has announced the terrorist is not dead, but seriously injured with burns over her entire body. She is currently receiving medical treatment at Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem and is on a respirator.
Testing of the car revealed several other explosives which the terrorist apparently intended to detonate in an urban center in Jerusalem. A policeman, 45, was lightly injured with burns to the upper body in the explosion and has been transferred for medical treatment at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in the capital. The site of the blast, which is along Route 1, was blocked to traffic pending the conclusion of the investigation on scene. The road has since reopened. Gas balloons have been found in the car, Ma'ale Adumim police chief Rafi Cohen stated later Sunday morning, and checks are underway to determine whether the car was stolen. Davidi Asraf, the spokesperson for the Jerusalem Police District, added that the terrorist had planned to detonate the bomb in Jerusalem, based on details of the investigation still under embargo.

On Tuesday, as the wave of Arab violence started to spread in Israel, Ban expressed concern and condemned the killings of 'Palestinians' without mention of Israeli victims. Prosor on Friday pointed out that in 72 hours alone, Palestinians had carried out 11 terrorist attacks across Israel.
“Israelis are being attacked and murdered in the streets, in their vehicles, and even in their homes, and the UN stands by in silence,” he said, “As my final act as Israel’s ambassador, I wish to stress the urgency of this situation that requires immediate action.” The escalation in terrorist attacks and killings is “a result of the ongoing instigation to violence by the Palestinian leadership,” Prosor said. “Palestinian officials continue to use inflammatory rhetoric and dangerous incitement, intensifying this wave of terror against Israeli citizens, and it must stop.” Prosor ended his four-year term as Israel’s representative at the United Nations; he will be replaced by former science, technology and space minister Danny Danon.

We can't stop the bloodshed.
We CAN stop the bleeding.
It's the randomness and brutality of the recent attacks in Israel that have put Hadassah hospitals on alert.
The victims come through our doors every day.
  • Odel B. had deep wounds in her neck when she arrived at the hospital. Her husband had been hacked to death in Jerusalem's Old City. Her toddler son also had knife wounds. They are recovering.
  • American Richard L., stabbed in the heart in a terrorist bus attack, remains in critical condition.
  • After Pesach K. saw his cousin murdered in the street, he was stabbed in the head by the same terrorist. He is recovering from surgery.
  • Naor B., 13, was putting air in his bicycle tire when he was stabbed. He is in serious condition after complicated surgery. His bar mitzvah is scheduled for November 28.
The most difficult cases are rushed to Hadassah's hospitals, world-renowned for trauma care and a team of surgeons that don't give up on a patient. They fight to save lives and stop the bleeding.
Help us #stopthebleeding.
Support us as we support the people of Israel.

HAVE A NICE TIME
